Learning in the Community
Students are provided with opportunities to participate in a range of community-based activities. These visits build on the knowledge and skills students have developed during teaching and learning experiences.
Shared Learning
Students participate in a vast range of academic and sporting opportunities with peers from Diocesan and Good Samaritan Education schools. These learning experiences provide positive interactions to further develop social skills for all students involved.
Workplace Learning
Senior Students at Mater Dei are provided with work experience opportunities in the wider community through the Workplace Learning program. The development of work skills, attitudes, self-esteem and interpersonal, decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential for life after school. The success of our Workplace Learning program is largely due to the ongoing support of many local businesses.
Sport
School Sport
All students will have the opportunity to participate in various sporting activities hosted by Mater Dei staff and some external providers.
Representative Sports
Our students often excel in the realm of sport. Mater Dei Primary and Secondary students regularly participate in Representative Carnivals and Gala Days.
Performing Arts Groups
Mater Dei students love to perform! The school offers performing arts opportunities to celebrate and nurture their skills. We regularly showcase our students' talents at events throughout the year, both within the school and local community.
“May our school be a community of welcome and celebration, where our abilities and talents are nurtured."
